Playstation network going to make us pay?

i got a weird message in my inbox on playstaion network saying that Sony was going to start charging in order ot play online? anyone else heard of this? the hole reason i bought the PS3 was so that i didnt have to pay to play.

it wasnt from Sony themselves. another person, i remember the name from playing on COD4 but dont know the person in any way.

And that's why it's spam. Kotaku, Screwattack, etc will have info on that before you'll hear about it from a non Sony employee via PSN.

They won't do it, otherwise it'll be another reason to get an XBox: if you're going to pay for online console gaming, might as well go with the best service that's out there with the 360

I've been using my ps3 over my xbox because of the free service. I would prefer to play on the xbox service if ps decides to charge.

That would suck! Some games are only for internet play anyways. If that is the case, I will just start buying games that are PC based.
