    Web Hosting Question

    Anyone use justhost.com or webhostingpad.com?

If not, any suggestions for cheap hosting for a simple website?

    Thanks.

Web hosts are pretty much all the same or just really horrible. I've been with LunarPages for a year now and it's been good for the $5 a month. Looks like they have a $3 plan now. I jumped around between hosts before settling there. Just stay away from GoDaddy hosting (domains are fine), it's horrible.

Most hosts make you pay 2 or 3 years up front to get the lowest price. I think LunarPages does 1 year.

If you happen to go with LunarPages I have an affiliate link you could use to help my ammo fund. Happy to offer an help if you need it too.

Yup, lunarpages has been pretty good to me too. Pretty reasonable prices compared to the others. Of course, I've got to put in a good word for GeoVario as well. They've done a phenomenal job hosting Calguns!

Ya I figured if it's such a secret, it wouldn't be at the top of Google's search

I really hate to mess with GV, too but their model doesn't fit my usage very well.

I've been using NFS for like 3 or 4 years solid and they fit me pretty good. Not that they are the best but if your a middle man and selling off hosting to people you do projects for it's about as good as you can get.

Free hosting here. 1500mb storage and 100gb/month transfer.

Shared hosting is all terrible. With that said, dreamhost.com is very honest with outages and overloading. They work hard at making sure there's a ton of transparency in their business to the customers.

If you're looking for a virtualized environment and you know what you're doing, then I'd suggest slicehost.com.

I've been using Hurricane Electric and they have been very stable, and quick. They seem to keep the overloading to a minimum, I have not seen any noticeable slowness.

checkout BlueHost, they are really reliable, and for domain registration, use namecheap. They are pro-internet privacy and there was a law that was trying to be passed few years ago, and they were the biggest supporters of it and blocked the anti-privacy act that was trying to be passed. They offered free domain transfers if you had a go-daddy account, which was a plus at the time

Hostgator has worked for me for years for my basic shared stuff. I keep a server for developmental stuff at Server Beach.

With Hostgator, $4bux a month gets you unlimited bandwidth, unlimited storage and a ton of other stuff including mySQL, access to stats and logs, and their easy to install add-ons like Wordpress, Joomla, etc, etc.

Yup. Spammer banned and thread locked, it doesn't need to keep getting bumped with everyone's favorite hosting provider.
