How about a rate my rig thread

My idea here is to see if my current rig is out of date or status quo? Other's can do the same. Post up some specs of your junk and let the rest of us say yea, nah or go get a new box you cheap basterd!

    Base Specs

    Dell Precision WorkStation 670
Hyper Stepped Xeon 3.40 GHz CPU
    3.0 GB of Ram
    ATI FireGL V3100 w/ 128 MB
Plus other standard hardware such as DVD burner & Creative labs Sound Audigy Card

Depends what kind of work you do. Just web browsing and simple games, that is perfectly fine, why get a new PC? If you use processor or memory intensive applications, then maybe..

      Desktop:
      Intel Core 2 Duo E6850
      ASUS P5N-D nForce 750i

I used to have it water cooled but when I upgraded I got lazy

I use the laptop most of the time just for downloading torrents, streaming my sexbox360, and web surfing. The desktop is mostly for Left4Dead and an assortment of games I bought on Steam.

I don't need you guys to tell me my laptop is a piece of cr*p, I already know it is.

I envy you guys and your technological savviness.

My sole rig is my budget Dell 1525 lappy, "Pentium Dual-Core" (slower than a "Core Duo"), 250gig HD, 2gigs RAM, Intel x3100 ("965") "graphics chip" (ha!), backup is a 160gig and 120gig pair of used HDs. Only real "splurge" in hardware is my Verizon cellular modem for Internet-anywhere @ $60/mo unlimited. (And I've had the contract so long, it REALLY IS unlimited...)

Oh, and I usually run dual-screen...I have an old 17" 1280x1024 external LCD. I'll watch video on one, type on the other .

                    But.

                    Software?

Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 6, LXDE desktop, Virtualbox with Windows XP underneath when I need it. 64bit flash player hand-installed, Google Chrome plus Firefox 3.5, Ext4 file systems with LUKS whole disk encryption on LONG keys, tons of tweaks and customizations, pretty hardcore firewall as well. It's fast, tough and locked down like Ft. Knox.

I have a quad core something
                        4gb ram
                        1tb of hd space
some gforce card that was like 500 last year
24" full screen lcd(wide screen sucks)
5.1 creative sound card with a full pioneer system.

No clue what else anymore. I put it in storage almost 8 months ago... I've been using my work laptop and I gave up playing games. I still have a box of cool parts I ordered somewhere I never even installed before I got bored of games and put it in storage lol.. Wow life can change quickly sometimes.
