    Microsoft Security Essentials

MSE went final today, free download from Microsoft. Works better than McAfee and Norton. I've been running this since it went beta with no issues. Doesn't affect system performance and has caught everything I've thrown at it so far.

Wow.. nice! Installing this on Win7 right now. I'm sick of bloated crap that comes from Symantec.

      Sweet!!! Thanks for the link.

Easy install, and my laptop hasn't blown up yet.

this will work for xp, vista, and 7 as long as you don't have a cracked version of windows.

traded in My free AVG and going to give MSE a try. So far it hasn't offended me in any way. I like that it's easy on the resources, which is new for microsoft.

I uninstalled Avast and Malwarebytes for this and so far (not even 24 hrs.) I am still as paranoid/unconvinced as ever. But the green light is still green. I even skimmed the porn sites I frequent/I mean visit . Its still green !!

Put it on one of my laptops the day the original post was made, has worked flawlessly (knock on wood) ever since.
