    Edge Browser Stealing Chrome's Data

This story caught my attention. It has me laughing out loud. After a Windows update people are finding that not only is Edge their default browser but it also opens with all of the tabs opened from their last session in Chrome. Edge is hijacking Chrome.

I don't use Edge or the Chrome browsers. They are just MS and Google spyware IMO.

Yup, Edge uses base chromium tech.

Well they're both built on the Chromium source, so....

Has this anything to do with the site being glitchy and hard to access?

There is significant cross-linking between Egde and Chrome, probably due to the common Chromium base. I suspect it's insecure as all get out, but shockingly I've found some sites that do NOT work in one, but will in the other...

Haven't thought to try CG for compatibility, but I doubt it will help going to Edge....

Unfortunately a lot of stupid websites are developed using chrome, and when I ask them about it and tell them I use Firefox, they tell me to use chrome.

I use three browsers: Brave, Waterfox, LibreWolf. Waterfox and LibreWolf are both Firefox forks. Brave for anything Google related because it blocks YouTube ads. I use LibreWolf for anything Amazon related. I use Waterfox for everything else. If I had a Facebook account or other social media, I would probably use Firefox and other Firefox derivatives for them too. BTW, I highly recommend browser isolation to limit the data that these tech companies collect on you.

Firefox works perfectly for everything I use it. Yes, most sites are only tested on Chrome based browsers. That does not mean Firefox does not work. While Chrome is on top today, there is no guaranty that it will stay there.

Outstanding recommendation. My spare unused pc is a Chromebook. Foooooooooook. This 5 yo $289 cheapie Best Buy laptop is on Brave and DuckDuck. I cant even use Firefox as it boots to Microsoft bull**** now. Ready and ripe for Linux Ubuntu.
