I renewed my gigabit internet plan last week. the contractual "up to" speed is of 1200mps download / 200 mpbs upload (yes, i know i'll never actually achieve those exact speeds). the customer service agent seemed knowledgeable and understood there's some changes needed on their side (not mine) to get those speeds and oddly said "not quite like FIOS" since to get those speeds, xfi equipment is needed. She said - maybe next year where I can use my own equipment to get those speeds.
i guess next year is around the corner in her mind because today, i get an email that I can get the faster upload speeds

I posted about this before in this thread - https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1876009 - wiht Xfer42 responding. I thought docsis 3.1 is docsis 3.1. So I called and insisted on the prompt to get a live person for technical support. Unsure if I was getting BS but tech agent was saying there's different tiers even though it's docsis 3.1. I resarched before the call to make sure I'm as fully informed getting into techy stuff and I do see on Xfinity's page there are some docsis.31 with different download speeds. of course none say anything about upload.
i wonder how true those upload speeds are? it's really more for S.O. when working at home and me also though I use more a citrix solution so i can fully use 2 monitors and contain work related stuff with big bro monitoring only on the citrix session. my citrix does usually give me a speed problem icon and i can never tel if it's download or upload, but teleconference work fine and i don't get complaints.
i did manage to eek out 4 years out of my motorola mb8600 and maybe 6 yrs from my sb6141 (needed to go to docsis 3.1 to get the gigabyte speed).
