    Software to manage scanned pdf

Anyone can point me to a software I can use to manage scanned pdf files. I have hundreds of scanned files that need to be review and renamed, and possible, rotate of the right direction. delete a page would be nice too but not necessary. Right now, I have to list files in explorer, open in adobe reader to review, close, and then rename. Is there a software, preferable free, that can list the files, show and preview, and change name at the same time?

    Many thanks.

You can check out IrfanView or one of the products from Foxit or Bluebeam. Are you renaming them based off something in the PDF? You can use an OCR function to do this automatically for you. There is a bunch of software that does this.

At work we use something by Hitachi but its like $50k

I can't give you any recommendations for software but I can give you a few tips to save you some time.

First, I would get SamatraPDF. It is an open source PDF reader that is MUCH faster at opening and viewing PDFs. It is a viewer only so you will still need and editor if you plan to make any changes to a document.

F2 is the keyboard shortcut to rename a file

ALT+h, n will create a new folder in explorer.

You can do a quick inventory of all of your .pdf files using the command prompt and entering "dir *.pdf /s > output.txt". That will write the output to the "output.txt" file (which you can rename to whatever you want). You can then open the file and do a text search with Ctrl+f for file names to find them quickly.

i do not know how to edit pdf files without buying software i only can only edit the jpg files so maybe if you could break up the pdfs into individual images it may be easier if its not sensitive data there are pdf to jpg online apps as long as they are under 50 mb or so

I'd take a hard look (and free trial!) of FoxIt PDF Editor.
Edit PDFs easily using Foxit free online PDF editor. Add text, comments, highlight, annotate, fill & sign forms, insert images, and more in seconds.

It's a hell of a lot cheaper than adobe & has a lot of really cool bulk / EN masse capabilities, which I'm pretty sure acrobat lacks.

It's a great product. Nothing to lose with free trial!

I'll second the rec. for Sumatra as your daily PDF reader / viewer. It's SO much better than bloated adobe garbage.
