getting error message "tiles" that stack on "desktop"

I keep deleting them and they don't seem to be doing harm, just annoying.

If I leave laptop on I'll come back and there will be these diagonally stacked by the dozen.

Any clue as to WTF they are and WTF it all means?

Seems to be related to uTorrent but not been torrenting recently, but was maybe running in background so I turned it off now.

It is trying to install something and failing. If I were you I would go to your temp folder and delete everything in there. Follow the path in your screenshot. Also do a full malware scan of your system.

Beware of torrents. Many of them have malware in them.

      thx, will try.

9 malewares detected so far. I thought I had it on auto-scan but now I remember I turned it off to run uTorrent.

It only takes 1 bit of malware and that one will start installing its friends. Your computer might have been used for anything from crypto mining to a part of a bot net.

I don't know why you had to turn your malware scanner off. You should be able to use uTorrent with it on. You definitely want to scan any file you get over uTorrent before you open it.
