You have to turn off Eco mode.

Another vote for Ecobee. I installed an Ecobee Enhanced a few months ago and love the darn thing. Good customer service too.

I like the ecobee, it?s similar to a smartphone. Nest has a simpler interface. For both, you can buy refurbished older models for your price range

            Sensi by Emerson. Full stop.

            Best smart thermostat ever.

Just what you want...rock solid connection, easy to use, great and simple app.

We got it free after SCE rebate.

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.

Thanks guys. The company we're using is gonna install an ecobee3 lite.
I don't like the way it looks compared to the Sensi but, due to warranty issues, I'm just going to live with it.

              Thanks for all the input.

Unless you get a battery powered unit, you'll need to add the 5th wire, the blue "C" wire to complete the 24v circuit to power the unit.

I like my Ecobee but had to go into the attic to connect the blue wire at the HVAC control panel.

^^^ Thanks for that. I only have 4 wires going to my existing T-stat.
I'll let the HVAC guy know.

This pic. is my existing T-stat wiring.

Here is what my guy said...

We will be installing a single stage furnace that only requires 2 wires for heat. A 3 rd wire for fan operation only no heat. A summer time feature. So your 4th wire will be the common wire AKA C wire.

We have these now and I like them more than our previous Nest. The Nest was a bit too eco for my liking and would let temps swing like 3 degrees over the limit I had set. The Ecobees don't do that. I also like that the Ecobee 3s dont have the alexa that the 4s do. I'm creeped out by the spy mics.

The deadband is adjustable on the Ecobee.
The Alexa is disabled by default so it's not an issue.
If you don't want remote sensors, the Ecobee 3 is great.

Hah yes I've noticed that about the Nest. I adjust it down 1.5 degrees to account for that behavior.
