Thanks for posting this. Your personal and financial information was unprotected by GunAuction, and stolen in December. Yet, it's now March, and GunAuction didn't bother to notify me. I was notified yesterday by a security service. I asked DelaCruz (CEO) what steps have been taken to prevent this from happening again, and he said that he'd send and email later.

Being notified of the breach by a third party diminishes my confidence in GunAuction to protect my personal and financial safety. A lack of assurance that the leak has been resolved has diminished my confidence in GunAuction to protect my personal and financial safety. If I can't have confidence in GunAuction, I can't do business with them.

There is no means to delete my information and account, so I fixed it my own way. I changed my account information. I entered a phony name, phony address, and phony phone number. After confirming it was all changed, I entered a disposable email address. After the GunAuction system accepted the disposable email address, I disposed of the email address. POOF! I'm gone. There are plenty of other places to buy guns than GunAuction.

All my info was fake on their site ever since I joined two decades ago; fake name, fake address, fake phone number - real email, but is a free one I use for doling out to wherever I know it's a spam-trap.

Never logged financial info because I only ever bought from the sellers in a direct transaction with them, not through the site.

I also posted this yesterday; it's a rather prolific breach, and quite serious for Manny to be this cavalier about it.

I wonder if he realizes there are significant cyberliability and punitive regulatory consequences for having run such a loose ship with other peoples' personal private information?

I checked my credit karma and I noticed it said the same thing for me but yet I wasn't notified.
