Anyway to delete microsoft edge from new computer

    Hi,
I'm not that great with computers and cant figure out how to stop microsoft
edge from loading when computer starts back up from sleep mode.
I tried the settings menu and switched everything off I could find in the startup section. Ant went into Edge settings and turned everything off. It still loads everytime I type in password and the home screen comes up.

    Thanks for any help.

    Its a new HP pavilion.

I believe you can disable it, but not uninstall it.

What do you mean running when you reset? Sounds like you have a link in your startup or something. Search for a folder named Startup and look for stuff in there

        It’s under %appdata%\roaming\Microsoft\Windows\start menu\programs\startup

I was just working on someones computer this morning on a Revit issue and was looking through the registry. Check here

          Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Wind ows\CurrentVersion\Run

Theres some Edge stuff in there you can delete

I offered the warning only because I've heard several horror stories of fubar-ed systems due to bad or ill-conceived registry edits.

The OP, or anyone can be courageous enough to proceed: I am just asking them to be cautious. That's all.

OP, are you running Windows in S mode?

No way. Live on the edge.

Plus if you kill your computer now you have an excuse to go outside.

It's a setting in Windows that restricts users ability to modify the environment. Also makes it so you can only install software through to the Microsoft Store. Good news is you can turn S-mode off so you will be running a normal install of Windows. Just wondering if that's the case with the OP.

Thanks for the info (learned something today)... is there any detriment to running in S mode?...

I'm gonna look up how to change the setting (unless it's ill-advised)
