So I have them for home internet. They also recently destroyed Vonage on VOIP for my office saving my employer $1k a year while expanding the service from three lines to five. Now they offer two phone lines of cellular for $30 a month for 12 months. Anyone have it? I have ATT now and my phone is paid off so I think I can just go into a spectrum store and sign up. ATT costs $77 a month so $30 and I have extra ammo money?

Spectrum Phone?
1. Compared to what?

Nothing to add other than SPECTRUM is just reselling VERIZON Services

I've had their service for a year or so,can't really comment on coverages I don't go anywhere.
Had to get my wife a phone that they cover.
It's been fine for my use.NRA Range Safety Officer pistol and reloading instructor

I have it. Good sound quality, good coverage everywhere I've been so far (roaming around CA mostly, only had Spectrum for about 6 months). A relative of mine says he's had excellent coverage everywhere he's been, and he travels to hunt all over the US. It is them basically using Verizon's towers, so you should have similar if not identical coverage. It's also much cheaper than AT&T was, and F*** AT&T, most piss poor customer service ever.So I have them for home internet. You'll probably be happy with the service and cost savings.Comment

I had Spectrum internet and hated it (them). Will never do business with them again.
To add to what someone else said they all use the same towers. The big guys (Verizon and AT&T) have most of the towers. The little guys just pay to use them.I will stand for truth even if I stand alone.

Strike one;
Spectrum had to send me a sim card, got it a day late, put it in, and wit won't work. Hopefully they can resolve. I unlocked the phone only a few hours before trying their sim and it says I may have to wait on AT&T a bit longer. Grumpy1. Compared to what?

If the spectrum store is nearby, go do it there.
They can get the email exchanges going and you'll probably be done in half an hour (not including waiting in line).
They do this all the time and may know the shortest route to getting it done.
At least that was my experience.
But, if you've already started with AT&T, not sure if that will impact it or not.God Bless America - My iTrader rating - https://www.calguns.net/forum/market...2-transactionsComment

LOL this is funny,
Spectrum says AT&T didn't unlock,
AT&T said it did,
Spectrum says not its not,
AT&T said, oh yea, sorry, and then the tech from AT&T ports in the spectrum simm card LOL for me. Now that's service!!!1. Compared to what?

We have Spectrum home internet (no other services) and T-Mobile for cell service. Spectrum internet has gone out every time there is a local electrical power outage. (Another negative for Spectrum.) Also considering a switch to Spectrum sell service. I'd be saving about $75 per month as well.
Waiting to hear how this works out for you.NRA Life Member

Well since ATT got the number I’ve had and used for 14 years moved over it’s been fine. Spectrum attempted to do so but never got it the ATT rep did. Weird. ATT makes you “talk” to a rep to close their account and that rep said it was closed the second my phone number was transferred and a waste of time. Otherwise I am just happy to lower my bill from 127 to 30.1. Compared to what?

Whatever you do, watch out with spectrum. The deal they are offering right now might sound good but you are only guaranteed that price for 1 year and then they can jack it up to however much they want. Then you have to call and threaten to cancel and ask them to lower your price again and it creates a big headache.
Also, depending where you live, T Mobile or companies that use T Mobile's towers can often times be better and provide better data speeds and less dead spots. T Mobile tends to shine in the city and Verizon shines in less urban areas and rural areas of the country.
Any MVNO, including spectrum will have tier 2 data speeds compared to verizon. So even if spectrum offers lets say 25gbs of high speed data per month, that's Spectrum's high speed data that has already been throttled by Verizon.
I say use Spectrum for internet only unless you don't mind calling them once a year to negotiate your prices and plans when they raise it.Comment

Also, if you are single and not on a phone plan with anyone else, prepaid is the way to go. Red Pocket wireless sells 1 year phone plans (using T Mobile's towers) at a tiny fraction of the cost of what a brand name company would charge and the data speeds are still excellent.
Or, if you don't want to buy 1 year of service at a time to save money, the next best option is Ultra Mobile. I pay $40/month for their 15gb plan (I never use more than 15gb) and have speed tested my 5g as high as 700mbps. (Spectrum would probably tell you they will give you the same plan for $19/month and then a year later, raise it to $75/month.)Comment

I have taken my chances with Spectrum Mobile and don't regret it.
I'll take the savings as long as I can get it.
If it goes up, I'll deal with it then.
They also offer a lower priced (by the gig plan) that may save even more (for some).
IMHO, none of the cell service providers treat their customers well.
