    Motherboard & GPU recommendation.

For sons x-miss present I bought a Intel Core i9-13900K Desktop Processor.

What would be a good Motherboard and GPU to go with it?

He does do some gaming. LOL i think.

Do you have all of the other things needed? RAM, SSD drive, etc.? Budget?

I've recently built a system, so I can offer help from my perspective.

Depends on your budget. To take advantage of the 13900K, you'll probably want a Z790 motherboard. As for GPU, again depends on your budget. If you can find an RTX 3080 that isn't absurdly priced, that would probably be a good high point without going crazy (like a 3090ti or a 4090). Otherwise, try to find a good deal on a AMD 6900XT or 6950XT.

Asus makes excellent MB's and they do have one compatible with your CPU.

Along with the items mentioned by 67 Cuda, you'll also need a CPU cooler and an adequate power supply. Also consider an SSD as a backup drive.

          I don't have a recommendation for a GPU.

            Thanks...

            I picked up the Z790.

I like the price of the 3080, 1k but the spects of the 3090 look a LOT better.

Too bad you came into this late. I picked up a 3080 when they were available at $700. No question that the 3090 has better specs, but current pricing of $1300 is still insane.

LoL isn't very graphics heavy. I wouldn't go too fancy with the graphics card if this is his game. I'd consider allocating some budget for a good Razer mouse because the game requires some fast and precise mouse clicks, and same with a keyboard.

A good CPU cooler would be another good idea, either air or water.

Super late to this convo but if you need a GPU still I have a 3090 for sale well under $1300.
