using apple magic mouse on Windows (10)

so i got this lightly used apple magic mouse. natively, left and right click works fine. i wanted to get scrolling (at least vertical) and couldn't find a way with internet research other even after installing AppleWirelessMouse64.

looks like magic mouse utilities is the only way? $15 or so but 28 day trial.

this is not magic mouse in a windows VM in an apple machine. but rather a true windows machine.

Apple, Windows, Google compatibility is limited.
My excellent stainless Galaxy Watch 3 Tizen is maybe 70% compatible with my IPhone 13.
I think proprietary hurts companies rather than helps

i managed to try magic mouse. seems to work sans the horizontal scroll. have a few weeks before it expires. someone left the company and left the magic mouse so like a vulture, i took it after it's been there a while (more so because hardly anyone goes to office).

You can get a Logitech wireless USB unifying mouse for like $15-$25, last I heard at Walmart...

With supply chain issues, they might be more now though...
