Can anyone help me recover deleted emails?

For years I have used Outlook to store or backup my emails and I use Gmail to send and receive emails for my work. My procedure for backing up my emails has been to open Outlook and download my emails and then Outlook deleted the downloaded emails from Gmail.

About 9 months ago, I got a new computer and had my Outlook files transferred to it. I keep this computer stored in a safe.

Today, I performed the backup using the new computer. Afterward, I noticed that Outlook downloaded the emails, but it did not delete them from Gmail. I started deleting the emails from Gmail. I then went through my Gmail to check and configure it, and I noticed it had folders containing emails that are similar to how I stored emails in Outlook. I decided to delete these folders and emails from Gmail. My reasoning was to not keep duplicate emails in my Gmail account, that were already stored in Outlook. After I deleted these emails, I also deleted the contents of my Recycle Bin. A short while ago, I check Outlook and noticed that all of my folders containing my emails have been deleted.

It appears that Outlook and Gmail are synchronized so that any change in Gmail makes a change in Outlook. These programs were never synchronized like this before. Thankfully, I have my older computer with a majority of my emails. I need to recover the emails that were received and sent after my prior download, which was about 9 months ago.

Can anyone help? Is there a cloud storing these emails?

If you emptied the trash then you will will have to contact Google support and ask for them to restore the emails. If this is a Google Workspace account, you can contact your admin and ask them to restore the emails.

BTW, do not immediately empty the trash. It will be emptied automatically after 30 days. This gives you time in case you might have made a mistake to undo it.

You may be able to salvage some of the gmail messages from outlook if you still have a backup of the pc when it was placed into storage. If you are able to restore this do not connect the pc to the internet. Outlook will allow you to create a local copy of that gmail account cache as a local pst file.

I have tried contacting Google support, I used the chat feature. They don't respond. I am assuming that they know they can't help and just pass on responding.

I do have a backup and the IT person I use is restoring my computer. It looks like I am going to lose several months' worth of emails.

Thanks for taking the time to give me some advice. I appreciate it.
