Creating a slideshow

Like the title says. Looking for inexpensive software that I can take 15-20 photographs, create a slideshow (fade in and out for each photo), and set music to it. Would appreciate a recommendation from someone who has used such a program. The current apps (Photo) that came with Windows 10 only creates videos (can't create a slideshow and set to music).

DaVinci Resolve will do this and it's free. It's really for video, but you can just use pictures instead and put in music.
Has all sorts of transitions, more than you'll ever use.

They have lots of different shows, so you will likely find one that suits your needs.

Apple photo can make slide show to music pretty easily. Pretty sure there is a windows version.
