Recommend an SD Card for my dash cam

My SD card has finally bit the dust. It spends a good portion of its life inside my dash cam, exposed to extreme temperature swings. Occasionally I will also swap it between my GoPro Hero 7.

I need a more rugged SD card, especially in the event of a collision, I'd like the card to handle whatever I can throw at it. I also would prefer it to have storage space up to 1TB.

Any recommendations? I am currently on a Sandisc card, but wouldn't mind venturing out to another brand like Sony.

The sd card that came with my dashcam bit the dust after only a few weeks. I bought this one and have had zero issues since. Check and see what the maximum size is for your dashcam, I'm sure it's nowhere close to one terabyte.

Those cards have high praises. Thanks for that. Maximum capacity on my Garmin 45 is 64gb but I've been running double that for some time since I do want some compatibility with my GoPro Hero 7 Black, where I habitually fill the 128gb in just one day of shooting classes.

Currently running the Sandisk Extreme Plus 128gb. Bought the camera, GoPro, and both microSD cards in 2018.

I use these same ones in my dashcam and my GoPro/FPV drones. Never had an issue with them.

check your specs on the SD card you are replacing. a dash cam will not accept a 1 TB card. just buy a SanDisk . mine is a 32 Gb. the the dash cam overwrites the saved videos.......even if it worked.....it would take about a year for your dash cam to overwite 1 TB if it could.

I generally stick to Sandisk, Lexar, and Samsung on dash cams/go pros. I've had several that have been re-written over thousands of times over and still hold up to this day.

Stick to reputable brands (especially those that manufacturer their own chips like Samsung) and you should be alright. These cards are so cheap these days compared to years ago, even if you squeeze 3 - 5 years out of them, it would equate to less than a cup of coffee a year.
