Way back in the when the internet was becoming necessary/usual for business communication, my own providers accountant sent me the Ana Kournikova virus. I caught it immediately but still had about 8 emails go out to my contacts before I yanked the cat. Yay.

If someone sent me anything to do with Ana Kournikova, I'd be yanking something besides the cat.

Aso for the data loss, as long as they don't lose my timecard, I don't care.

Their last IT guy "tripped over the cord and unplugged their Data Bank".

My McMansion tract home has iffy wiring and trips breaker and crashes my desktop on semi-regular basis. Only issue is Open Office etc wants to restore whatever was in use at the time, because OF COURSE it automatically makes backups like 10,000x a second 24/7.

I'm thinking more like disgruntled geek, maybe who didn't want boss hiring other workers because he is the only guy smart enough, etc. The vengeful geek probably did some passive aggressive "well, the boss TOLD ME to do such and such to that system, too bad he is too dumb to know that will force me to delete those files". I guess its not as bad as Going Postal with a Workplace Mass Shooting.
