Great tip for those that have an inkjet printer

I have a inexpensive HP inkjet just for the times when I want something in color which isn't often. Because I forget to at least print something on it once or twice a week the ink cartridges get plugged up and or bad print quality that the "clean printhead" utility fails to clear up.

So in the vein of saving money I looked for some solution. I've been through the clean with alcohol routine and normally that has never worked for me.

So I see a tip that actually worked. Heat up some distilled water in a shallow bowl about 1/4 inch or so deep in the microwave. Sit the cartridges in the water (printhead down obviously) for five minutes, take out dry with a cloth and dab the contacts and the printhead.

Repeat until you have cleared out the printhead. FOR REFERENCE: [url]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIuJsiaicW0[/url (This was a different video than I watched but same process)

It took two sessions of five minutes for me to restore my black printing but it worked perfectly for getting the printer back to 100%.

I just bought a inexpensive Brother color laser printer. Even at 10 times the price, its 1/10th the hassle.

        If that fix works, great.
I was always a inkjet guy, until the inkjet printer I would buy, over and over, went up in price. This was before covid, $80 up to $225. Now they are $475. Unbelievable, because while when they worked, they were awesome, but they would inevitably break. Luckily I bought an HP M281cdw for $286, $100 off at Costco. Anyway, I went laser because I also didn't print often enough.

Color laser is the way to go except for photos, so I still have a inkjet.

Cool tip btw, gonna try it out
