Recommend a standalone vehicle GPS unit

Looking for recommendations for a stand-a-lone GPS unit I can mount to my work vehicle's windshield.

I need it to clearly show what street I'm currently on, direction of travel (northbound, southbound, etc.), and the upcoming cross streets in an easy to see format.

A quick way to enter an address and have it nagivate me to that address would be a big plus, too.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

Not slamming your wanting a stand-alone GPS, but why does a phone mount not work?

Many modern phones have true GPS that works without cell signal using the maps app. I use it all the time on flights to see where I am in real-time.

I have better results using my iPhone's map navigation than both a Garmin or a Tom Tom.

Technically the iPhone Maps software is TomTom.

I'm looking for a standlone unit because for various reasons sometimes I might not have my phone with me, or I'll be in an area with weak cellular signal.

absolutely the Garmin. I used this while working field maintenance for the Post Office. spend the money and get any mid range unit that has "LM" after the model number. "LM" stands for lifetime maps updates. also the newer Garmins will let you plan routes. you cannot do that on your phone. also you can load multiple destinations at one time, and then tap on where you want to go. also the multiple destination list gives you time and distance to each address at the same time. customer support has been excellent. the Garmin update is very simple to use. BUY a Garmin !!

+1 to Garmin units, they tend to be the most intuitive and user-friendly.
