    Question on Facebook

I do not, nor have I ever done Facebook but I have read enough about them and their leftist policies to wonder why anyone would commit their personal information to a page or use them as a primary business vehicle.

Recently, someone I know left a job and started their own business. They relied on their Facebook page to let all of their old contacts know what they are now doing and to prime the pump with new customers. The old job did not have any kind of non-compete or disclosure agreements, so there was no conflict. Out of the blue, their Facebook account was suspended and, when he inquired, he was informed by Facebook that they had received allegations that he was involved in criminal activity so his account was suspended pending a review. Of course, weeks have passed and there has been no review and there is no way to communicate with Facebook by phone or email, so he has lost a primary vehicle for his business and has no recourse because no public accusations were made. His suspicion is that the former employer us involved.

He asked me about this and I was at a loss because I know very little about this site but I also know that unless someone does something publicly, your chances of getting names or other information from a tech giant are pretty much nil.

Anyone have any input or suggestions?

Thanks for the great response; it’s extremely informative and insightful. My initial reaction when asked bout this was limited to the “ their game, their rules” perspective without considering the user agreement, something few people read.

The terms are written by attorneys anything that takes hours to read cannot be in the best interest of their users/their inventory.

Hmmmm....parts of the story seem out of sync.
