Gmail may be dropping support for Live Mail

I received an email notifying me that Gmail may stop supporting older 3rd party apps. Live Mail may be one of them. What are you folks using for an email client, Thunderbird, Mailbird, Outlook???

For a Google hosted mail account, I usually just use a web browser. Only one of my Google MX'ed accounts do I use a thick client and for that I use the Mail.app (Mac OS).

I don't even know what Live Mail is, but I'm guessing it's being dropped because it doesn't support Modern Auth.

Yep, not secure enough. It also mentions some hoops I may need to jump through to access my mail on my iPhone. I can still just use Chrome and the native Gmail app, but I like to be able to archive mail. I am not sure how the gmail app in Chrome handles mail storage.

To help keep your account secure, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password. Instead, you’ll need to sign in using Sign in with Google or other more secure technologies, like OAuth 2.0
