    Budget laptop

For a while I've just been using work laptop for my personal pc and I'm tired of all the websites blocked needing to use my phone for everything they don't allow and unable to install any software and thinking of getting a personal laptop and don't need anything high performance. I'm tempted to pick up one of the latitudes listed in the deals section, but if there is something better to purchase I'll take a look. Really not looking at spending more than 400 or so.

You can get a good deal on a refurbished laptop on Amazon. Just make sure you thoroughly test it out before the 90 day return window closes.

That's what I refered to in my original post. I just noticed the cpu was from 2015 and wondered about that.

If you are looking at an Intel based Laptop CPUs, I would highly recommend you look them up. Depending on the model an i7 CPU could have anywhere from 2 to 6 cores! I was looking at some used laptops in the 6xxx model range thinking the i7s would at least be quad core then found out that there were dual core i7s. Also check if they support hyper threading.

1 yr/parts/labor warranty. I think you can still buy them thru your Amazon account since they sell there too.

Check on Offerup. I see a ton of laptops in the sub 500 range.

The most affordable laptops are the HPs and Dells... Depends on your budget you can get something of value from 500 upward.

I got a $400 Lenovo a while back before Putin caused all this inflation. It is pretty good. Intel i3... Idea PAD 3. Decent with most desktop things that are not 3D games, rendering, slicing, etc...

I have a AMD Ryzen9 5900HS laptop with a RTX3060 that is FAST AF for a compact 14" laptop, but it was $1000 more.

I got a Alienware Ryzen 5600x/RTX 3080 system and the mobo went out once already when under a year in age. Tech came and replaced it under warranty, but that's ridiculous IMHO. I have a lot of PC's and that takes the cake for horrible mobo longevity.
