Verizon Network Extender - possible to make that LAN port "guest"

I live in a cellular black hole, and about a year ago complained to VZ about it, so they "gave" me a network extender to use, for free.

It plugs in to my network via ethernet cable/at my router. Is there a way, with my router (a newer TP Link AX5400), to limits its access to my network to internet-only, sort of like using a wireless guest network? I've been looking in my router settings and don't see port-level settings. I was hoping it would be as easy as just jut clicking a radio button.

Yes, but not from router software that the manufacturer provides.

You would need to set up a new VLAN with an independent bridge and tie those switch ports to that new network.

While VLAN’ing and bridging are going on with the guest network, the port assignment happens in the WiFi driver and the consumer-grade router software makes no allowance to split the Ethernet switch into multiple VLANs.

This can be done from third party router software: Tomato, DD-WRT, OpenWRT. However, third party firmware generally doesn’t support AX-series routers because the drivers are all closed source except for a select few Qualcomm chipsets.

You could use a wireless bridge (extender with an Ethernet port) to connect the Verizon box to the guest WiFi network.
