    PDF Unlocker

Anyone know of a PDF unlocker that will allow editing of text that does not remove the fillable text boxes in a protected pdf file? I tried SysTools PDF Unlocker and it will unlock the file and allow me the edit the pdf file's text but it removed the fillable text boxes that were in the original file.

I have a program at home that I think will do that, I'll get back to you on this. Also there should be websites that you upload the pdf to and they will unlock and let you download the pdf. Search something like "free online pdf unlock" or unprotect. Does your pdf have personal/private information on it?

Thanks for the suggestion. Instead of unprotect I tried unlock and came up with ilovepdf.com and it worked.

I'm able to do it on a Mac if I just save a copy of the original. Do it all the time for school when a professor sends a PDF. Never lets me edit, add or highlight the original, but when I save a copy of the original I can edit and add to it.

          Did you try Adobe?
I'm pretty sure it would take about 10 seconds.

I do not have a Mac as most of the software that I need only runs on Windows. For most pdf tasks, I am using Nuance Power PDF Advanced 4, now a Kofax product. It will not let me edit (change the text) in a edit protected pdf file. So I needed a way to unlock or unprotect these pdf files. Try this on you Mac. Download a CA courts fillable pdf form. Next try and change the text on the form. Will a simple save a copy allow you to edit the text on the form?

While Power PDF Advanced will allow me to edit pdf files, it will not do so if the file is locked against editing. You have to defeat the security first. While SysTools PDF Unlocker would defeat the edit security, it removed all of the fillable text boxes that are part of the form. As I mentioned, the online tools at https://www.ilovepdf.com/ got the job done.

            Thanks for your input.
