    HP Pavillion laptop help.

    So.

One of my laptops just defaulted on battery life ( granted the damn thing is 3-4 yrs old).

The other ones are still running strong and normal, perhaps it was my fault to keep the umbilical charging cord always connected to this one.

My Google FU indicates that I have to open the whole damn f***g thing just to swap the baterry?!?!

    Is that correct?.

Your input will be highly appreciated .

You can download the manual with instructions and parts list from HP.. I did my wife's HP Envy-M7. Ordered the battery from amazon. It wasn't that hard, just keep track of the screw sizes and where they go.

I am not sure what series Pavilion you have, but my older one has a battery that just pops out of the back, no disassembly required. My wife's Envy required a case split.

There's plenty of youtube vids about swapping batteries, hard drives, etc. Just type in your specific model in the search field. But even so, opening up a laptop's not hard. While you have it opened up, I recommend blowing out the dust too. It's amazing how much a little bit of dust can impede heat flow.

              Thanks for the feedback guys.

I really appreciate the kind help.

Yup, it seems I need to remove 23 screws just to be able to open the shell and swap a POS baterry!.

              Well , f..k me!.
