Do you get decent cellular coverage out there?
If not, I'd queue up for Starlink, they're going to be a game changer in the high speed sat market. https://www.starlink.com/ -
Yes good cell coverage. My son just ordered starlink but wait time is months I heard.Comment

T mobile and Verizon have some interesting deals for wifi internet.Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I'd stay with Starlink. Buy a Tesla and ask them to move you up the list for sat?If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you thereComment

When traveling, I tether all the time... work Notebook, Firestick in Hotels (USE 5Ghz, NOT 2.4Ghz), tablet, etc...
I know it isn't included in some AT&T plans, but I think it is with everyone else, but maybe not pre-paid.
T-Mobile has Whole Home Internet Service via cell data with no overages for $50/month, unlimited, uncapped data:
https://www.t-mobile.com/isp/plan
"Is there a data cap on the T-Mobile Home Internet service?
Nope! There are no data caps on our 5G Home Internet service."
They are competing pretty-hard...
If you know you have a truly unlimited Tether plan (probably had to be grandfathered), this could work too.
When out FiOS went out for a couple days, we just tethered to our phones for TV.... as we only watch streaming TV.
We DID have a 20GB cap per phone at the time, and since it was just a few days, we didn't hit our caps.Last edited by the86d; 08-27-2021, 9:22 PM.Comment

Just FYI:
I had a big argument with T-Mobile support due to their throttling tower speeds for 4G LTE (specifically bands 2, 12, 66 [4] ), due to twin rollouts of home internet and 5G 700 MHz. Also, band shifting to the Sprint PCS ranges that have piss-poor indoor performance.
What they have done is make the unlimited tether plans from the past operate at near 3G speed all the time, and they are pushing the newer plans to get you on 5G with capped tether.
Have not tried the home internet offering, but they can and do change the playing field when it suits them, so even on a grandfathered unlimited plan, don’t expect nirvana.Comment
