    I need a cheap Microsoft laptop/pad

We're all Apple here; everything actually.

Every once in a while, I need a MicroCrap product. I've loaded Windows on my Mac and can easily switch between for when I need Windows, but I'm looking for a dirt cheap laptop or pad that runs Windows 10, and has a USB or some sort of port to transfer data via hard wiring.

If you need a Windoze device, use Lenovo's can be had a great prices on eBay:

You can get a BUOR (Beat up old rig, with cosmetic surface-wear) i5 T460 for $200ish with a 256GB SSD and 12GB of RAM.

Lenovo T470 (USB-C for a dock and charger) with a 1TB NVME SSD and 32GB of RAM with an i7 for like $220ish, but you have to buy the SUB-C power adapter separate.

Ever consider just using a virtual machine? It's cheaper, easier, involves less window licking and never goes bing when you're in the middle of an important piece of work.

What are you going to use it for? Theres a million options out there... But no sense buying the cheapest thing if its not going to do what you want.

              They're Junk.

Get a Lenovo W540 with K2100m graphics, up to 3k screen, up to 32gb/RAM, and up to 3 SSD's, and i7, up to 4940mx.

I have two of them. One is my "DD", and has been for the last four years. After I went through it, and upgraded it, I've yet had any need to get inside of it again.

I do graphics, run multiple VM's, play games, sometimes all at once. Mine has an i7-4900MQ, and I've yet to find anything that bogs it down.

Mine, was $530 including all upgrades and purchase price. Probably cost you $75-$100 more at the present time. A real beast.

Better make sure you have a lot of ram, and a strong processor, if you plan on doing that, or you'll be VERY disappointed.

My wife has a fairly new 2 in 1. Been pretty decent so far. Most Dells are pretty good computers, depending on the year.

Last I heard, even the new "Pro" iPhruity devices have a Soldered SSD and Soldered RAM...

                      Issues with the hardware?:
                      You're fscked.

HP at least repairs them and gets them back to you pretty quick. I don't think MS ever fixed a Surface under warranty. HP was good about it. Still a lot of hassle.

Dell comes to us when theres issues with them.

Windows 10 in S mode is a version of Windows 10 that's streamlined for security and performance, while providing a familiar Windows experience. To increase security, it allows only apps from the Microsoft Store, and requires Microsoft Edge for safe browsing.

Kinda turns your laptop into a iphone you can only buy software through Microsoft App store. Plus stuck with edge.

Microsoft 365 Personal (1-Year Subscription) this is Office(word, excel...) after a year subscribe or lose it. $7-10 per month
