Work From Home - 5 days/week approved... Now I need 2 more monitors & stands...

Had to get the VAX. It was a wording-thing, which I exploited pseudo-immediately, and before it was corrected in a later e-mail, but had to get Covid-VAX #1 to exploit it, OR may have missed my window. Perm WFH, for now, unless someone screws it up, but my team is mostly 1337 IT-vets, so hoping that can be avoided.

So now I need to get 2 more monitors, and a stand for all 3, or some stands for the other 2 to be added the will lift the 2 additional screens almost a foot IF I want to use my current home-office desk.

My current desk is a cheap glass top, so most/many arms can't be drilled and bolted, or clamped.
A "platformed-base" which can elevate the center of the monitor to about 18" would be perfect, but can't seem to find any with the specs I desire that aren't RAPE, for a price point.

I had a 3 monitor mount with a base, but it was statically pivoting the monitor bases up a smidge, which wasn't working, and it was made for 4:3 monitors and wouldn't fit 3x 27" monitors.

Any info provided in the way of VESA monitor risers with a base would be greatly appreciated(, or an adjustable-elevation 3-27" monitor mount with a base).
Again, I can't use the clamp-style, or drill into the desk.

I did find this, but it appears the base isn't very wide...

Look for a wall mountable arm array. They make them for desk corners. Thinking you can attach a small piece of 2x4 to the wall as a base and then mount on that. We have all kinds of wall mount articulating arms in the exam rooms at work.

          Very funny...
What about working on 2 computers remotely, while modifying printers on a server remotely,
and chatting with coworkers 3/4 of the country away for advice,
or while someone gets back to you after not replying all day...?

I can get my job done WAY less efficiently with one, but am more productive with 2,
and the 3rd is for making calls and Teams/Server connections.
I am so fly, basically I'm on top of sh!+...

Not looking to mount anything to a wall, as I could be moving to TX soon...

          I GUESS I COULD get-by with a 2-monitor setup temporarily... but right now home has a 27" and then a 1280x1024 4:3... and non-wide-screen makes things unviewable.

A little pro-tip that will save you some desk space and give you more screens.

Grab a 43" 4K monitor, and a program called Actual Multiple Monitors. With this software you can carve up that 43" into however many small monitors you want and use it as a full 43" as well all at the same time.

I use two 43” 4k monitors for reviewing / revising ITS construction drawings, mostly with Bluebeam, and also for reviewing submittals and RFIs.

Yup thats what we do with our CAD guys as well. 2x 32" monitors or 1x 32" and 1x 43" 4K for Bluebeam, Revit, etc...

                    Ditch that glass top.
Get a electric standup desk frame, slap whatever size desktop. Extend it out in the back so you can mount the 3 monitor frame. You will be happy. Sometimes your butt or your back will hurt from sitting too much. Raise it up and change things up for the hour/day.

I do a lot of automation development. Sometimes need to watch the console of 28 machines simultaneously. Maybe while thats going on, share my desktop to go present a new UI Im working on.

A bit more info as to why I chose my setup:

I used to use a glass desk with two monitors. I could flatten the monitors or fold them in, it was fine. As we started to work on more in depth stuff, and people complaining about my 20 or 30 SSH windows open during presentations, and me having to close them out just to reopen them later, I figured I should get another monitor.

The 3 monitor stand would not work on my glass desk. This is because the center monitor sits in front of the stand, as opposed to beside it in a 2 monitor setup, therefore pushing all of the monitors towards me 6in and losing a lot of valuable desk space. Not saying it couldnt be done, but obviously not ideal with the desk... so the desk had to go.

Instead of a "nice looking" impulse buy Fry's desk, I went for a more functional desk. Got an electric standup desk frame from amazon, cheap top, bolted it on. The monitors being too close to me was still an issue, but I knew it was going to be. I bolted a 2x4 to the bottom of the desk in the center, so it sticks out 6in in the back. Thats where the 3 monitor stand mounts to. The center monitor is now flush or behind the back of the desk, instead of 6 inches in.

I considered just bigger monitors, but some of the folks have high res monitors and always causes problems during presentation/debugging/troubleshooting sessions. It wouldnt have resolved any of my presentation problems.

A 43" 4K is a great option, been using that with a laptop for some time, even though I need to upsize the fonts on the laptop screen...

Depending on what you're using for video, if you REALLY need more real estate, how about 2x 43" 4Ks in portrait mode? Current TV's weigh practically nothing, though you might have to come up with some sort of custom mounting arrangement...

I use a 43" TCL 4k TV as my monitor. It's great. Best setup I've ever used. Much better than many small monitors.

Currently I have a second 24 inch in portrait mode on one side. I may add the second.

                              Agree w CLeonard above.

                              I use a Vizio 40" 4K LCD TV ($199 @ Costco).

Is it perfect for gaming & photo editing? I dunno - looks good to me, and all I have are console windows all over (Linux VM + Windows) + usual MS Office crap
