Samsung S7 Backup/Factory Reset Question

Battery seems like it's getting tired as I can barely make it through a day with light/moderate use. Talked to a nice My Cellphone Repair guy about having battery replaced for $70. He suggested first backing up my phone/data and doing a factory reset to see if that helped improve battery life.

Got signed in/registered on the Samsung site and did a backup of everything that I could including contacts. I had been saving contacts to the phone - not the SD card. Will everything including Apps be restored after I do the factory reset?

I haven't had a Samsung in a long while now, so not sure about app restore.

I "backup" my contacts to my MicroSD, if needed, as I would assume Samsung would sell your contact list, like everyone else?

I normally just have my contact sync w/Gmail, as it is easier to not worry about for contacts... unless you have an ATT Android, and then they implement some WEIRD contact app variant where SOME can save on the phone, some save on the SIM, and some sync w/Gmail, but I have only tinkered with ATT phones, helping others, so I never understood how or why they work like this.

With rooting about all my old phones/devices and updating to CyanogenMod or custom builds, I never really tried to keep data on the phone. I always store Pix and vids I take to the MicroSD automatically upon first opening the Camera app.

I run my phones pretty lean, and only install what I NEED/use, +Airline apps for boarding passes (as I travel for work more than I would like), and don't just install apps to install apps, and generally my internal phone storage stays under 40% full, and running less full is reported to increase longevity of the internal storage (My last device lasted over 3 years, and I can still swap batteries by popping the back off, even if an older devices/Android Rev) especially since the pix, vids are saved to the MIcroSD.

As I recall, things that are phone-MFR specific might not even sync... Like "Notes"(?) would only sync (if it does at all) with a like-phone from that MFR.

I login to my new phone and gmail contacts sync, and then just install apps. If you are worried about app data, you MIGHT want to switch to using apps that sync data for them in the cloud, and not use as many BS apps?
I switched to using Keep for notes as they sync to every device you use with the same primary gmail account... and try to be a unspecific as possible in my notes because the Gargler is licking that data.

Maybe I am a minimalist, and changing phones is a big deal for me too, however having had MANY Android tablets and phones (at LEAST 11 tablets and 25 phones amongst the 4 people in the home, at last count), I don't install All the apps I can.

This reminds me, I need to queue-up some downloads in Netflix and Hulu on my tablet, as I am traveling out of state next month on a couple long flights, and I forgot to renew stored shows/movies I never got to...
I frantically tried to renew D/loads at the airport, while boarding, to watch on the plane this month during a work trip.
A coworker is driving next month, so I told her I'll be drinking...then.
