    Windows Documents

I got a new PC a few months back and it works great. From HP new, it was setup (or maybe I clicked somewhere) that is saves Docs on my OneDrive, or mirrors Docs I save in the My Documents folder. I'm the problem; not sure how its setup. My XPS laptop is in the mix and has its own files, as does a XPS desktop I use only occasionally.

I'd like to clean this all up, get the files unduplicated and sync'd among devices- can't find a good process to do it. Today, I got copies of each computer's My Document folder saved to discreet OneDrive folders. Now the fun begins.

Any ideas? I'd first like to get the Settings set so it copies any doc on any machine to OneDrive. Next, start merging folders I guess- how will duplicates be handled?

    Thanks everyone

I can't help you, other than to do what I did and do an internet search. I found some scripts that clean-up a lot of the unwanted crap-wear that comes as baggage.
Script to remove Windows 10 bloatware. Contribute to Sycnex/Windows10Debloater development by creating an account on GitHub.

    Use at your own risk.

Finally, a quick rant - why can't we just get a clean OS install anymore without all the bloat-wear and strong-arm tactics from MS to use their products? I'm sick of it. I don't want onedrive, Cortana, Edge browser, Office-360, Xbox or any of that. If I want something, I can install it. At least give me the option for a clean OS install without the garbage. I'm about ready to drop Windows and go totally Linux (I have one rig now). MS is now as bad as Google's Android.

Thanks, but these are all MY files- created using MS and other products. It just spun out of control when too many PC's came to the dance (and I wasn't paying attention).

I'd copy them all locally to a single place, make a backup of that, wipe out whatever is on Onedrive and put it back how you want it. Onedrive by design is supposed to be a syncd cloud storage folder.

Thanks- what I'm thinking. Just need to find the My Docs or OneDrive sync settings to have it not do it again

I AGREE. And, why would anyone store documents on the Internet? Old school makes more sense to me.

All set. I was overthinking things- that I'd wind up moving a ton of files. OneDrive took care of it and is purring along now working on it. Appreciate the discussion.
