Quite awhile ago when I was still using Chrome when I would close it my scan software would always report "Removed (qty.) of tracking cookies" that's when I decided I had enough.

I never use it. It's just too invasive and wants too much information.

Brave is basically Chrome open source without all the data collection and tracking by Google and includes some additional website protections. Brave works well for sites that require Chrome, but sometimes you have to lower the shields to make "broken" websites work properly. When I log onto some of my secure sites, Brave is clearly identified as a device using Chrome.

            No...
Brave is a Firefox derivative (like Pale Moon, Iceweasel, Icefox, or Icecat), with some common privacy add-ons, and settings built-in, instead of being bolted-on after the fact.

(It's my understanding that Firefox is loosely based on Netscape Navigator, but Open Source, and Mozilla is a combo of the words Mosaic, and Killer, AKA Moz[illaK]illa.)

I believe Chrome is the only browser that can translate foreign language sites. I follow things Italian and use the translate feature regularly.

My issue is that I deal with thousands of parts from hundreds of vendors in various disciplines, i.e. Commercial HVAC, auto mechanics (car/truck and motorcyles), guns, bicycles, boats, construction both commercial and residential, just to name a few.

Sometimes, well, more like often, I have to research my history to find obsolete and unobtanium parts or people.
                It's why I use Chrome.
                What's better for my situation.

It's neither. Brave is a fork of the Chromium project.

                    My bad.
I think the old versions only used Firefox Add-ons, unless I am recalling incorrectly.
I could SWEAR I used Google SSL Firefox add-ons in the past on older versions when those were a thing...
I Might be mixing up Brave and Pale Moon in my recollection, which would fit the add-on,
but I was using a bunch of browsers when Firefox had it's schloo of bad revisions for a short time,
Even Naked browser was better on Amazon and eBay than Firefox during this time.

Terms used like Private Windows, rather than Incognito, threw me off.

Safari on Mac / iOS / iPadOS offers translation as well. Safari is trying to up its privacy-creds, but still not as free as others.

There is no hiding from data collection at this point. The only way is to cut all electrical device and go back to morse code or pigeon.
