Am building a computer to replace my 9 year old previously home built desktop. Question between these two processors. Intel i5-11600k vs AMD 5600X. My use is Internet, limited 4k video editing, Microsoft Office, e-mail, SketchUp 3D (simple stuff). No gaming at all. I do not overclock. The way I see it is as follows:
Intel i5-11600K: Available. Cheaper than AMD, especially now with price gouging on AMD. Comes with integrated graphics, which may be all I need?, fast enough, though a tad slower overall vs 5600X. No cooler. Can run quite hot.
AMD 5600X: Slightly faster than Intel, comes with integrated cooler, runs cool, but while MSRP is $299, always selling for more like $370, and often not available.
Question really is, will the new Intel graphics (UHD 750) sufficient for my needs? I don't know. And if a graphics card is available, is one even available, and at what cost? The Intel needs a cooler, but a single fan Noctura should be OK (I hope). I wish to avoid liquid cooling. I've yet to look into motherboard costs.
Existing CPU is an Intel i5-2500k. I have not tried it with 4l video editing, but would not expect it to fare well.
Thanks.
Phil
