This was posted by my friend and coworker, heed the warning.
It's rather obvious that someone ripped open the side of the box either during shipping or in receiving where it sat for 15 days.

Jan1 I bought a motherboard, a CPU, and RAM from Newegg. Not the newest, certainly not the most expensive, but it was a much needed upgrade for me.
Some folks told me not to and that NE had gotten sketchy, but I had always had good experiences, and I'm a loyal kind of guy.
I received the order on Jan 6th, I had everything prepped, carefully opened everything and proceeded to do the install.
Short story is that I couldn't get it to work (Would not post) after even bringing in another friend who works in IT to look at it. And so I sent back both the motherboard and the CPU, keeping the RAM on Jan 9th.
I packaged it VERY carefully, I was proud of the fact that you could barely tell that the boxes had even been opened.
UPS said that the package arrived at the Newegg warehouse on Jan. 12th.
No word from Newegg until Jan. 27th. 😕🤯
I was then told that they received the motherboard, but no CPU (the most expensive part).
After going round and round they finally on Jan 31 sent me4 pictures of the CPU box. It was clear that the box had been ripped open and the CPU yanked out of it, leaving the larger fan.
I asked about the box it was shipped in repeatedly, finally getting an answer saying it looked fine. But no pictures of that.
I talked repeatably with customer service several of whom said it sounded fishy, saying they usually open a claim with UPS when this happens, and one actually opened a claim for me on Feb 3rd.
No one contacted me until this morning where I simply received an email saying that they were sending me the box with the fan back with no CPU, but they weren't charging me for shipping!
Argh.
I know they cannot send free hardware to anyone who sends them an empty box, but this case was so plain, and egregious that even if they didn't believe me they should have replaced the part just for good service.
Here are the pictures they sent me.
