Like some of you, I have had a Garmin for years....
While looking to update the Speed Cameras and Red Light Camera File, I stumbled across a storage hog...
I had 50+ GB of old maps!
Not a huge amount of space... but I deleted the old Installers and Old maps...
It looks like Garmin is slopped with updates not removing old junk off of the computer!
Here is what I stumbled across--
I was just cleaning up old map files in the C:/ProgramData/garmin/coreservice/downloads folder, and noticed that I have a Garmin Express installer .exe file for every version of GE I've ever installed. Takes up more than a Gb of space. I assume it's safe to delete all those installers?
Between these installers, and the well-known map files that pile up in the CoreService folder, Garmin sure seems to be sloppy about cleaning up after itself.

This is for Windows 10 and backslashes have been replaced by the "pipe" symbol | (vertical line). |
In the folder C:|ProgramData|Garmin|CoreService|Downloads|Map
are numerous folders named Map_Map.NA2021.20 or similar. Each folder is 6+ GB.
In the folder C:|ProgramData|Garmin|CoreService|Downloads|Applic ation
there are folders named Application_Application.express-windows 7.1.4.0 or something similar. Each of those folders are 112 MB.
In the folder C:|ProgramData|Garmin|CoreService|Downloads|Firmwa re
there are folders named Firmware_Firmware.006-B19948.00.8.80 or somthing similar. Each of these folders is about 83 MB. I had 40 of these folder, for a total of 3.3 GB!
In all the instances I've cleaned out everything except for the most recent 2 to 4 entries and there doesn't seem to be any issues with Garmin Express
