Home Printer options Reasonably priced quality laser

I had not used my home printer in quite some years - it was a typical consumer inkjet/copier deal. Okay for what it was, but these things are ink-rip offs. I purchased new ink for the thing during this lockdown but could not get it to work - not really a surprise.

I have been driving down to my office when I had to print stuff, but they went on full lock down and I can't even stop in for an hour here and there to print stuff and need to buy a printer.

Don't want to spend a lot of money, but don't really want a piece of crap either.

    Any suggestions?

just steal the one from work, you are probably the only one using it anyway... seriously I would talk to your company to see if they have something that they are not using or they may even be able to buy/expense one for you, unless, of course you work for yourself then I recommend that you just buy the cheapest thing you can find.

I am planning on expensing it... I could go through IT, to order it, but that is a PITA and who knows what I'd get...

As it stands I am thinking of just buying one and putting it on my work CC.

I bought a HP laserjet because of ink issues with inkjet printers. Inkjet's need to be used so the ink / printheads don't go bad or clog up. The laserjet can just sit there until needed, no issues. So far, I've been happy with HP. I bought this one at Costco when it was on sale last year.

Go with a laser printer if you can.
Print-heads don't clog with ink and cheaper to buy remanf refills.

                Craigslist.

Just remember, H-P is the second worst series of printers out there.

Sadly, they rank just ahead... of all others.

                  I have a Brother HL-L2350DW. B&W, full duplex, wifi, good speed. $120.
If you also need scanner, Canon all in ones are pretty good and can be had around $200.

OP "not a lot" means different things to different people.
I've always used laser printers as they are cheaper to run than ink-jet,
but eventually I could buy a new printer for what a toner cartridge for my 20yo HP 4MP would cost. About 8 years ago I bought a Brother all in one (color, copier, scanner, and yes fax ;-) I don't recall how much I paid but about a month later Costco had it for < $300 I think.
At the time Bother were the least expensive per page to run, and this thing has been near flawless - maybe 4 paper jams in over 8 years.
My daughter bought a much simpler b&w model for < $100

Brother makes some of the best printers IMHO and there are some really good ones in the $100 range

Have had great luck with my Brother Laser, about five years old and still chugging along, but it is just a B&W unit.

Do you want color or not?

If black and white is good, HP Laser Jet Pro has some good cheap ones and you can get generic toner cartridges off Amazon and Ebay for cheap.
