question about 'Flash Player'

for the last year i've been getting a warning that after December 2020 Windows will no longer support Flash Player

from what i can tell i have a few games and programs that require Flash Player in order to run them

is there another way to run these programs/games without Flash or do i need to find other way to run them, or just not have the ability to run those programs/games

Maybe in Win10 it's 'obsolete.' I run 7Pro, and I'm keeping it.

HA! I fully switched my entire network over to Linux when they stopped supporting 7 and run XP, because it is lite and doesn't bog down my old systems, on a VM for situations just like this

Flash won't run on my XP because Adobe makes crap software. A couple years ago they sent out an update that deletes a bunch of files first, then installs files, then deletes more files, etc, etc.

The problem is that it blew up in the middle. The old version was destroyed and I can't install the update. It finds a file that says version xyz is installed, then it looks for files to delete, which it can't find because they're already deleted. Can't install from new because it says the old version is already there. Without knowing which of the thousands of files I have to delete in order to install from new, no flash.

Another reason I periodically archive my backups on disks at the bank vault.

At some point, the powers that be will disrupt your workflow for their own reasons. The only way you can hedge that is point in time snapshots to revert to, or run in containers. They upped the ante with time-locked online verification.

This is why OpenSource and free (as in speech) operating systems / software matters.

im sure there will be another site i can access those games on without much issue - now i can see why my son won't upgrade his Windows 7

there was no Windows Update with that number KB4577586, BUT, there was one titled 'Security Update for Adobe Flash Player' - good chance they are one in the same?
