Oh hey, I've been waiting for these to become available for a while, since I'd like some actual hands-on info from users. OP, what's up with the companies politics? I know they're from SF which should be a warning sign, but do elaborate.

You pretty much nailed it. No tech company or one based in SF is going to be majority conservative, or even likely to be neutral.

However, privacy as a right is something we should all fight for and support.

Something to note: the USA model isn’t just assembled in the US, the majority of components are sourced from Western companies that produce the parts in the West, so “muh freedom.”

And as with Linux desktops, these will never be the mainstream choice for the bulk of users, but will fill an important niche as you ACTUALLY own the hardware and software.
