I had the same problem you have now. After asking around I was told to use a can of compress air and blow air into the Headphone input, seen a little weird but i tried it and it solved my problem. It appears dust or dirt inside the input was causing the speakers not to work. Hope it fixes yours, at least its a cheap fix attempt.

With digital stuff it just happens sometimes. I have to do the same thing occasionally with my Samsung and TCL TVs and Samsung and Onkyo receivers. They get out of sync or something.

Electronically you can pull the cover off and see if you have any puffed capacitors.

What year is your receiver? Like how new are we talking. If its within the last three years and it has wifi etc there might be an update for it to fix this bug. Otherwise like you have been doing a simple hard reset is not harmful at all for the equipment.

Ditto here. The only type of self repairs I've been able to do with current LCD TV's is replacing blown capacitors. Beyond that, it usually is resort to changing the circuit board where with Black Friday coming up, it may be cheaper to replace the TV.

I ran into a similar issue between my older Pioneer receiver and more recent Sony Bravia television with Firestick streaming adapter. Audio would drop out periodically. Seemed to be related only to the HDMI connection/sync for newer specification as older video DVD/BD content and standard stereo audio didn't appear to have any issues.
I ended up buying this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 in order to split the audio content from the HDMI stream and redirect it to the receiver via the optical audio port (TOSLINK). Working fine now, so far....

About once a month I turn on my Samsung 8000 series TV And Dennon receiver and no sound comes out of the stereo speakers, all of the inputs and settings are correct.

I’ve cycled all of the settings, reinstalled the receiver, and have swapped out all of the USB cables with no avail.

The only surefire way to fix it is to power off the power supply strip and then power it on again, works every time and immediately fixes the issue but I can’t imagine it’s good for the electronics.

                Any ideas?

I was having the same issue with my Bose surround system. for me......it was solved by turning on my tv first.....then turn on power to my Bose system. it seems my xfinity DVR is the culprit. to test this, when my sound dropped, I would reboot my DVR only, and the sound would return. since I started doing this, my sound has never dropped.

I've had that issue and what solved it for me was to remove and re-insert the Dish Network card in the Dish receiver.
That resets the receiver and it reboots.

I have an OLD Sony TV in my room, the bargain 46" from a million years back. Amazing that it still looks great and works. Outlived half a dozen VIZIO's hahah. Once in a while it looses the HDMI sound in. I always have to power it off and on.

I have one ancient stereo receiver that powers new sony bookshelf speaker and a powered 10" sub... always loose sound on the right speaker or it gets muffled and static filled. Fix it usually by repluggung the 3.5mm to bluetooth input or the rca in back or the speaker wires... I will try blowing out the receiver.

Yeah, I'm an AV geek. What is the model # of the Denon? It should be on the front panel.

How is the power at your house? With all the winds lately, there may be voltage fluctuations. Modern electronics like your AVR hate under voltage (lights flicker = brownouts = under voltage). It can cause the microprocessor to lock up requiring a hard reset. Post the model # and I'll check and see if there's a firmware upset available?

The receiver is a Dennon AVR-S530BT

Power is solid, newer panel with no apparent voltage issues.
