    Continuous body temp monitor?

I have an interest in continuous recording of my body temp, related to sleep.

'Check now' without the recording, is not useful to me. Off-body is not useful for continuous monitoring.

There are wearable gadgets that claim to do this.

Money is an object. Right now, no interest in FitBit or Apple Watch. Definitely no interest in chest sensor - wrist is about all I can stand. (and the Core is $274, kinda out of my application value, even if it works on the arm, too)

    Starting budget is LT $100.

More capabilities than temp recording is fine; don't care about phone functions on the temp gadget, I'd disable or ignore those.

App has to run on IOS; strongly prefer the app not come out of China, which limits things quite a bit.

Really want an app that doesn't care about anything but the sensor and me - no signups, logins, synching, sharing, ads, coaching, monthly subscription, anything on the net.

So, does anyone have any knowledge or experience in this tech area? I could use some advice.

This is a tough one - had to eliminate much due to your criteria.
This cancels out infrared. Your need does require some exploration, certainly.

I've been a long distance runner and relied on the Suunto Ambit Peak 3 for years. It'll give you a slightly accurate skin temperature. The data doesn't have to go anywhere. While Suunto is great for elevation gain and altitude, I know Garmin is better with analysis and a lot of third-party products are made to connect with Garmin Connect IQ. I can only imagine that their accuracy will be less than clinical grade. But there shouldn't be too much fluctuation during sleep, anyway, so it'll present you with a good average. A quick search pulled this one up: https://www.cbsquared.com/products/temperature-sensor-kit

This meets your needs of working with iOS and it's probably decent in accuracy, still not medical grade. Though, affordable: https://www.cbsquared.com/products/t...ure-sensor-kit

Moving up in accuracy, now you'll have to determine how you'll want to connect to it, physically -- an aquarium temperature sensor. This one is probably a bad example as far as the unit but it does the task you're asking. There may be 'strips' out there. Either way, I'm guessing used marketplace for anything superior. Because this is a hobbyist pursuit there should be an arena out there. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/seneye-reef-monitor.html

For true accuracy that will meet your budget you'll have to go toward an IoT device route. You'll probably have to do some research but this will be both affordable and accurate, as it won't be FDA approved but it would do the task. This is probably as close to pinpoint as need be, but you'll probably have to also buy the receiving unit. I would try to scout this or a similar wireless IoT sensor device in the used market.
Buy MikroTik and Ubiquiti networking gear including routers, switches, wireless, and IoT. In stock with fast US shipping and expert support.

As China is off your list, that eliminates aliexpress.com which I haven't searched but I can imagine will probably yield a good amount of trinket-priced devices; some may work, for a period of time, before giving out.

This departs from your iOS requirement and is a bit experimental but I can see something like this working with accuracy:

    Stay cool!

      Thanks!

The baby monitor TempTraq seems closest - it's main drawback seems that it's a one-time use thing.

I hadn't really looked at baby monitors, but the Enfasmart looks interesting - just needs replacement sticky-pads, but lots of complaints about staying connected to the app.

Dayband app gets slammed for emails and the temp recording is broken.

      Walkfit app is subscription.

So much low-level junk. Fitbit does temps at $330 + premium subscription

monitoring the humidity around you is also important. Will impact your blood pressure and sleeping habits.

For that simple temperatures and humidity monitor with min and max for last 24 hours is available widely on EBay. Around $5-$10.

Keeping your room temperature around 55 to 65 degrees with humidity below 50 at night will aid your sleeping hours.

Run a go-fund-me? If everyone you've helped here pitched in $20, you'd be rich. I'll put down 20.
