    AT&T Fiber users?

I posted a day ago about Spectrum internet services. I was ready to ditch AT&T ADSL 24Mbps for Cable's up too 400 Mbps. However, I just logged in to my AT&T account to see if they offered fiber without TV bundle like Spectrum. Low and behold they do now. Finally!

So, now I'm thinking of going with AT&T Internet 1000 Fiber plan.

Any of you fine ladies or gents use this service and what are your thoughts about it?

    Much appreciated.

Good service, fast enough for everything. Look into Sonic, in some locations it used the AT&T servers and infrastructure however has better details such as no data cap, and no throttling.

I have CenturyLink gigabit fiber at home, not AT&T, but I can tell you fiber internet is the bomb diggity. Usually it's symmetric too so your upload speed will match your download. Helpful if you run any public facing services, or VPN in from remote locations. For $65 per month, it's a no brainer. I don't know what AT&T charges.

I have AT&T Fiber for $49.99/mo. Super nice and fast, 1000mb up and down. Real world is ~980+ up/down. Been very reliable, have not had trouble or outages. The install went easy, I have a complex network situation and the install tech was very knowledgable and accommodating. He could tell that I was in to the networking thing and let me do the terminating of the fiber cables

I made the switch from 300 down/20up for $114/mo couldn't be happier. Assuming things stay as they are I wont ever look back...

Had it in Garden Grove but moved to Orange and it isn't available. Miss that 980 up/down.

Moving into a place soon and the 2 best internet providers in the area are AT&T and Spectrum. Still deciding between the 2, but leaning towards AT&T fiber as well.

Well, I scheduled for AT&T fiber this coming weekend. Crossing fingers that it's nothing like their DSL service which cuts off randomly on me. Now, I'm researching into Wi-fi Mesh networks and it seems that AT&T does some proprietary software that can be difficult to make a them work.

Figure I will first try the new fiber service out and see how well or bad the wi-fi range is in my home. Been eyeballing NETGEAR Nighthawk Whole Home Mesh WiFi 6 System (MK62).

It may be uncomfortable-hot here in the Temecula/Menifee/Murrieta Valley for a FEW months/year, but we have GREAT Internet prices and speeds with FiOS.

Bought my house at the bottom of the market for around 210k, now worth 415k, and made damned-sure FiOS was avail in the last 3 places I lived.

                  Total Bill Amount $43.98

Saturday was fun. The AT&T tech came over at 9am. Looked for the telephone with the AT&T fiber box. It was three houses down. The tech needed to attach the new fiber line to the fiber box to my telephone pole in my back yard. There are two large trees that are in the way of the telephone lines. Since the tech was on his own he gave me a choice. He could call in and request for another tech to help him attach the cable or I could help him by using a long pole with a U shaped attachment to hold up the cable while he pulls the loose slack as I maneuver around the trees.

Heck yeah, Let's get this done. So luckily we only needed to go into two neighbors backyards to do the job. Fortunately those neighbors where home too. If not, he would have to reschedule when he could get permission.

Took awhile to cajole the cable around the trees and vegetation. Thankfully the weather was nice and cool too. Because, I'm a sweater. So after that he gets it installed and tells me to check it out.

I'm pretty impressed. So far, no disconnections or random reboots on the modem.

                    After:

Today, my AT&T Smart Wi-Fi extender was delivered too. It helped provide some much needed coverage to the lower level of the house. I don't think the Smart Wi-Fi extender goes much above 200 Mbps though, which is a bit of a bummer but it wasn't expensive either.

I'm now thinking of added an access point to the furthest room on the ground level to cover more areas and boost some of the transfer speed too.

Just finished connecting a Cat6 outdoor ethernet to the other end of my house. Bought an Ubiquiti Unifi AC Pro and it works great!

                            IVth,

Is that speed on your wifi or Ethernet connection?
I can understand maybe your wifi speed being around 200 Mbps but NOT a direct connection with a LAN line.

Gig fiber here - steady 980+ up / down, doesn't cut in and out, no issues, and $80 / month. FAR better than the Comcast business line I used to have for almost $300 / month and was only getting 300 up / down. Oh, and no data cap here either.
