This thread started awhile ago but became active again - I'll go ahead & add my 2 cents. I was an early tester/user for Wyze, and now have many fixed Wyze cams, all inside looking outside. That makes the night vision mostly useless but that's not a problem for me. I'm slowly replacing my older more expensive pan/tilt webcams with Wyze as the older ones die. I have the older ones sending motion snaps to a local FTP server. You can do that with Wyze now with special firmware, but it removes other nice features, so I choose not to. Each of my Wyze cams has a local microSD. So the total of cam & microSD is still under $30 - about half what many of my older webcams cost. I added the local sensor pack (xmit USB plug, several tiny motion detect, door alerts set) and it works great too. I rely on (and now pay a small monthly fee for) person detection that works very well too. I've been planning to try one of their pan/tilt and one of their battery-powered outdoor cams, "just because". I currently have one Reolink solar-powered outdoor cam, and it pretty well sucks rocks.

I have some indoors only. The only problem I've run in to, is if it's in a room with a TV. (Assuming you have "niight" on auto) when watching TV at night with room lights off, the camera will constantly switch back and forth between the day and night settings. And it makes an audible "click" when it does, so get a regular click sound every 10-20 seconds, and if you tried to watch that video it's difficult with the switching. Obviously someone is in the room at that time so the need for the camera right that minute is less, but my wife is annoyed by the clicking.

I have a couple outside, had them under the eaves for over a year and still working fine.

Wyze just launched their outdoor camera, completley wireless with a battery, it may be worth checking out. I've got one on the way.

I have two doorbells and one outdoor kit ordered. Not sure when they wll show up. WYZE's order tracking system sucks. Doorbells are one part of the order, outdoor cam is another, and WYZE cam V2 is another. Received the cam V2, but there is no way to tell when the doorbells and outdoor combo is coming.

My other netcams have many more features like zoom, programmable pan and tilt, extra-wide angle view, but cost 4 times as much as a WYZE and don't have cloud storage. If someone brings a ladder to snatch a WYZE cam, it won't cost that much to replace, plus I pay for cloud storage so I should still be able to access the video.

I'm still having fun with the cam in an outdoor mount running it on a battery pack. I've been using it as a trail cam in the front yard to see which critters pass by. A couple of cats, skunks, and a coyote.
