    Remote controlled alarm for home?

Is there such a think as a remote controlled alarm for a home?

Say you have a camera system and see people trying to break into your home. Is there a device you could activate that would sound an insanely loud alarm?

I have that in my office. It's triggered by any breach of doors or windows, then there is motion detection inside. Also calls the local PD. Bay Alarm installed it. Great company.

Unless you're glued to watching your phone every minute you're not at home, you'll never see them break in until it's too late.

I use a few systems. For simply safe I have the remote control app. I can arm and disarm remotely. I can reconfigure it to go from notifying me to triggering the monitored alarm response. I don't see a panic button on the app.

            This interests me, too.
I'd like a SimpliSafe type 1-time purchase system with camera monitoring & motion sensing that would notify my phone when it's triggered, but without the monthly fee.
Seems like there should be something out there already, but if not, someone will eventually create a universal triggering protocol and phone app, like a universal ring doorbell with inside-house capabilities.
If anyone knows of this type of system, please mention it - my google-fu too weak for me to have found it.

Arlo has a siren which can be remotely triggered.

There are a number of ways to accomplish the goal of setting off a remote siren. Unless you just happen to be looking at the camera feed when the crooks enter, you will probably only see the aftermath. Much better off with a dedicated alarm type system that can be set off remotely if you see someone on camera before the crook gains entry.

Same for home. Bay Alarm does a good job. I've been using them for 26 years and two different homes. They are not cheap, but well worth the peace of mind.

One of the cool things is a panic KEY FOB. You can keep this with you to set off the alarm manually.

If you are looking to build a system on your own, you can do that by buying the same professional components systems Bay Alarm uses. Honeywell/Ademco. And they can be wired and/or wireless, simple or complex. Very robust systems.

Another layer of protection is an outdoor driveway type alarm. I don't have one of these yet, but I've read they work well, but are pretty sensitive.

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

Wyze camera sends alert to my phone. I can then turn on the two way radio (part of the camera) and talk/listen through the camera.

                    Works pretty good.

I'll vouch for simplisafe. I've accidentally set it off and I'm getting a text as I'm keying the combo into the keypad.

Yeah most the cameras give you to ability to verbally give instructions or speak with your uninvited guest.

I have Abode, you configure it as you wish, so you can get a fob for it or use the app. The system has a built in siren, but you can also get additional sirens to place around your house.

You can also self monitor at no charge, or have it monitored occasionally, or all the time.
