    Win 10 Security Tab

Win 10 will not allow me to delete a backup file on an external hd 'admin permission...etc"

Logging in as Admin does not help - same message. I understand the fix is on the security tab, but it does not show up in properties for files or folders.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks!

Maybe try accessing the file through a command window and do attrib -r -a -s -h and then delete.

Found it. It's an Acronis backup file that was protected by Acronis active protection. All I had to do was turn it off. Doh.
