    Macbook Pro & vertical stand

I recently purchased a Macbook Pro and I wanted to get a stand for it. I found an aluminum stand made by Satechi and it looks like good quality.

Could mounting the laptop in this orientation cause any issues to the laptop?

A number of folks at my workplace use vertical stands with their MBPs and have not experienced any issues. Just make sure no vent openings are obstructed.

I've seen a number of people use Ikea napkin holders for their MBPs. They actually look like they were designed for laptops.

I ended up with the aluminum stand made by Satechi. If anyone is looking fora vertical stand, this is the one - it's really nice.

No issues at all for me after several years of using a stand.

the newer MBP vent the heat from the space between the hinges of the screen. Apple made it hard to block the exhaust ports

Yes. I have a 2018 MBP issued by my employer, so I'm aware of the vent placement. I haven't seen all of the vertical stand options out there, so I wanted to make sure it was understood that any option pursued should not obstruct intake/exhaust airflow.
