Remembering IPs is a thing of the past and they don't matter, just use something like DuckDNS or equiv. and resolve via a DNS FQDN hostname such as pr0nhub.duckdns.org ...
They can change all the time and in 5 minutes, DNS to your IP will resolve.

They don't change your ip unless you request or do it yourself. You won't have your old ip if you switch.

Turn off the router- wait 1/2 hour- when you plug the router back on you get a new IP address

If not, the IP stays a long time on the router.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
          (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

If you want to change, release DHCP lease, change MAC, renew, that has always worked for me... (except on my old ASUS).

My IP with charter -> spectrum has not changed in years. I have been using the same bookmark to reach my router when away from home for a long time now. Their service has gotten a lot better in the past year too.

For me Spectrum was a light year improvement over AT&T. Also Orange County.

Spectrum rarely changes your IP. I believe it has to do with tracking your activity for law enforcement....

Spectrum binds to your mac so that won't work for an external IP. Your local router will bind to the cable modem in which case you do have to restart it.

Is there a reason you need a static IP address???
