Getting photos off iphone which was not backed up

Well my wife's iphone 6s ios will not update and the phone is in recovery mode. Do not want to restore it because there are my kids school graduation photos on it...so calgunner IT guys, how do I get the photos off the memory of the phone?

I've tried updating via itunes and tenorshare ultdata, the apple store guys couldn't, the Best Buy guys couldn't, and told me they're gone - just restore the phone.

Maybe a hardware issue? The firm ware does not seem to want to install.

Get something with an SD card next time, and set the cam to drop on the card, so you never have this problem again...?

If you have a google or Amazon Prime account, you should of had their photo app on her phone which would of backed them up to the cloud.

Given the problems I am having with an iPad repair in Las Vegas I would use Louis Rossmann mentioned in NYC or iPad Rehab https://www.ipadrehab.com/ in Honeoye Falls, NY.

Both do data recovery. IPad Rehab might actually fix the phone!

Thank you everyone for the help. Today we restored the phone, repaired the iOS and lost the photos.

The symptoms were the white screen w apple alternating with the plug into iTunes screen. Set up google photos and new iTunes/iCloud so this should not happen again (fingers crossed).

Used the tenorshare ultdata to fix the iOS.

Funny how something like this is a time and emotional suck.

I hope this helps. I use an iPhone 5s that is years old. A year or so ago Apple cloud started storing everything I did. I did not ask for it, it just started...so, check and see if your lost data was stored on the cloud. I have no idea how to do that but one of the kids at your local genius bar aka Apple store can probably get you to it quickly. I hope the photos are there. That is what the cloud is there for.
