Does the PC have a HDMI output jack? Does the TV have a HDMI input jack?

This is not too much more than just an HDMI cable and gives you some additional streaming options + remote if that interests you: Roku Express | Easy High Definition (HD) Streaming Media Player (2018)

This of course assumes you have HDMI connectivity. VGA cable connectivity might exist which you can also use from PC to TV depending on how old your TV is..

HDMI or some converter cable from laptop to tv. Or just buy a amazon fire stick. You can watch Prime on the tv or even mirror the screen from your laptop to the tv wirelessly.

You could mess around with cables and crap but cheaper and easier is just buying a $25 firestick and be done with it.

Droidbox, Roku, Netgear streaming boxes, Smart TV, etc, are better options.

You don't want your notebook fan wearing out, unless you bought it on eBay for ~$100... and don't care... Hell, you can plug in a HDMI via a PC with an easily replaceable CPU/GPU fan, that was my jam for a while, a bit ago, and jNES.

I got one of a old firesticks, and the control delay was HORRIBLE.

How is the response time with current-gen?

The original ones were pretty crappy. The new 4K models are very snappy.

They go on sale all the time. Don't spend $50 on it. You should be able to get it for half of that.

Much better. For $25 it makes an old tv useful again. I got the regular one not the 4k.

You can use a wireless, HDMI connection. I think they're good up to 25'.

The 4k Firestick will be on sale again soon under $40 and maybe even at or under $30. Even if you do not have 4k TV, the 4K Firestick is worth it for the extra CPU speed. It is very responsive.

I have one 4K already and will be upgrading my other regular Firestick when the 4K Black Friday deal comes around.
