Problem with Galaxy Note 9 receiving texts from wife

My wife and I both have had the Galaxy Note 9 for about a year. I think this problem began after a system update a couple months ago. Both phones are on the same Verizon plan.

The problem is that I get no notification when my wife sends me a text message. No notification, no sound, it doesn't display the message momentarily at the top of the screen, and no text icon. To see if she's sent a message, I have to open my text messages and look.

I get everybody else's text messages just fine. I get the sound, the quick message display, and the text message icon.

I've checked my display and notification settings but see no problem. Anybody have any ideas? This is really annoying.

I would guess you changed you notification settings for her to silent or off. If there is a little bell below and to the right of her message that means you have. It's an easy fix just click on any message from her and change settings.

        From the message screen,
        select the senders messages
        3 dots on right
Check the custom notification switch (should be off for normal message handling)

I've tried this and it doesn't change anything.

Yes, hers is the only messages that have that little bell. How do I change it? I've tried clicking on her messages, but I don't see how to change it.

edit- I found the bell- Thank you very much!
