Google Chrome will not open on laptop pc

All of the sudden Google Chrome will not open on my laptop. My diagnostics skills fixing PC issues is limited. My laptop PC in a Dell Inspiron running Widows 10. Microsoft Edge still works but when I click the Google Chrome icon in taskbar I get nothing. I shut down and restarted, nothing. I ran a quick scan with Windows Defender and it found nothing amiss. This looks to be the first major issue with this PC and I am at a loss on how to fix it...

Running a full system scan with Windows Defender now. We will see...

Might have to nuke your user profile data for it.

Move these folders somewhere else

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Google\Chrome

You could try re-downloading chrome and re-installing it:

https://www.google.com/chrome/

Apparently Chrome did not shut down correctly. Chrome is now working, strange as I never had this happen before. Oh well, I will keep a eye on this...
